Frequently Asked Questions
Furl is an iPhone app blocker by Rulesimple. It blocks distracting apps during focus sessions and gives you Guided Reset, five quick tools for the moment the urge to scroll hits: Urge Surfing, 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding, Box Breathing, 4-7-8 Breathing and Physiological Sigh. XP, streaks and leagues reward every focused minute.
Furl is free to download. The free plan lets you block up to 3 apps and set 1 scheduled focus session. Furl Pro, a monthly or annual subscription, removes both limits and adds entry to Diamond League (the top league) and Pro avatars.
Most blockers either lock you out or add a short pause before an app opens. Furl covers both moments: hard blocks hold during focus sessions, and when the urge hits, Guided Reset helps you work through it in under 90 seconds. Breaking a session is possible but deliberate: you pause or cancel inside Furl, and both cost XP.
Yes, from inside Furl. Open the app and either pause the active focus session or cancel it. A pause lifts the block for a set period, then the session resumes automatically. Cancelling ends the session. Both cost XP, so every break is a deliberate choice. If you have turned on Face ID for Furl, you need it to open the app, but Face ID does not unlock blocks by itself.
Every focused minute earns XP, and XP moves you up the leagues. Diamond League, the top tier, is open to Furl Pro members. Staying within your daily limits keeps your streak alive. Pausing or cancelling a focus session costs XP.
No. Furl uses Apple's Screen Time APIs, so Furl cannot see which apps you use, your browsing history or your messages. To run your account and sync your progress, Furl stores your name and email address, and collects usage analytics and diagnostics that are not linked to your identity. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Furl blocks apps. You choose which apps to block, and that can include your browser, which stops all web browsing during a focus session. Furl does not block individual websites.
Not yet. Furl is available on iPhone and iPad today, and the Android waitlist is open on our homepage.
